Description
  • After visiting Skidby Mill try one of these countryside strolls:-
  • Take a short walk past Gallows Hill, a small mound with a knoll of trees which is reputed to be the site of the gallows on which sheep stealers were hanged during the reign of Charles II.  You walk back along the village street.
  • Alternatively, walk down to the small farming hamlet of Eppleworth and back to Skidby via the path round Hessle Golf Course and then the green lane called Bottoms Road.  This lane runs under the bridge on the former Hull - Barnsley rail line, one of the last to be built in the country and, unfortunately, one of the first to close!
